Our Ministry is to Help Grieving Families

Our goal — our ministry — is to help grieving families and to assist the deceased through our prayers and rituals to journey towards heaven.

Please call the Parish Office and ask to speak to Pam Edwards if you are in need of funeral planning assistance.

For more information, please see the Funeral Planning Booklet below

Funerals: To schedule a funeral, contact Pam Edwards at the parish office.  Funerals take place at 11:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Burial Plots:  To obtain a burial plot at St. Philomena or St. Louis, please call Gretchen at the parish office.

Advance Funeral Planning

The thought of planning our own funeral may leave us feeling vulnerable and uncomfortable. However, pre-planning our funeral Mass can ease our mind with the knowledge that our family will not be burdened with making these decisions, during their own grief. Ultimately, we can feel at peace that our wishes will be honored and carried out.

Pam Edwards, as Director of Parish Life and Engagement, is honored to accompany a family when the time comes to plan a funeral Mass.

If you would like to pre-plan your Funeral Mass, please contact Pam at our parish office.

Burial Arrangements

St. Louis Church and St. Philomena Church both have cemetery plots available.  These beautiful cemeteries have sections dating to the nineteenth century.  Please call Jessica Teke at the parish office for more information about purchasing a plot at either cemetery.

Liturgical Ministers

Altar Servers

The role of the server is to assist the priest and deacon during the celebration of the Mass and at other liturgical celebrations. Servers prepare the sanctuary for the Liturgy, assist in preparation of the gifts during Mass, and ensure the sanctuary is in order after the liturgical celebration. If you are in the 4th grade or above, you are invited to participate in this very helpful and rewarding ministry.

Greeters and Ushers

Greeters offer a friendly, welcoming presence at the church doors to those coming to worship. Duties and responsibilities of an usher include welcoming all as they enter the church, assisting in finding seats, taking up the collection, and assisting with any questions or concerns that arise within the congregation during Mass.

Lectors

The lector will read the first and second reading at Mass.  Volunteers from all four parishes are welcome, and will receive training before being added to the schedule.
